Our Artemis Team
Dedicated To Growth And Wellness
The Founder
Christy Punnett
Christy is the founder of Artemis Movement — a postural movement system she developed to facilitate change and adaptation, enhance strength and structural stability, and bring lasting somatic healing.
She was born in Saint Vincent, in the archipelago that follows the lower line of the eastern Caribbean toward South America, and now lives between Saint Vincent and Barbados, where her young son and her family are close by. She travels internationally to teach and write.
She is a human anatomy geek and immersive naturalist, just as happy in a dissection lab or on the deserted moors of her ancestral isles on the west coast of Scotland.
With a background in Institutional Management, she began studying and practising wellness modalities in her early twenties while raising her three young daughters. Nearly thirty years of teaching later, Artemis Movement is the synthesis — a practice built in response to what her own body needed and what current science most clearly supports.
She is currently an MPhil/PhD Student in Cultural Studies at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, where her research develops aisthesiology — the study of pre-reflective bodily knowing — across Celtic and Caribbean traditions. This work directly informs her teaching.
Christy is a trained doula and incorporates the support of women through pregnancy, birth and aftercare into the work of Artemis. She leads retreats internationally, teaches online classes, and mentors a global community of Artemis teachers — across New Zealand, Canada, Mallorca, the UK, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados and the US — from the studio space she has built with her teachers on the west coast of Barbados.
When she is not working, she is cooking with her family, studying ancient history and philosophy, and writing secret travel blogs that may one day be published somewhere.

Gaby Beston Edwards
Artemis Chief of Staff and Artemis Teacher
Trinidad & Tobago
A Venezuelan-born Trinidadian artist and movement teacher, Gaby brings over twenty years of teaching experience to her Artemis practice and has recently graduated as an Artemis Teacher. She is also part of the core team working alongside founder Christy Punnett in the development of Artemis Movement. Movement, in Gaby's teaching, is an act of listening. A way of slowing down enough to hear what the body has always been trying to say - and finding, in that conversation, something that feels like coming home. Her approach is whole-bodied and unhurried - rooted in postural rehabilitation, deep core activation, and the kind of body awareness that quietly reorganises how you move through everything else. She works with students of all ages and abilities, offering language that bridges the gap between thinking about the body and actually feeling it - from the inside out. As a painter, Gaby has spent decades learning to look closely - at the living world, at the quiet intelligence held inside every living form. That same quality of attention shapes everything she brings to her teaching. To her, a body in motion and a canvas are not so different: both are asking to be truly seen. Underneath the form and the structure, it is always the same invitation - to come into relationship with your own architecture.

Ultimately she resolved teaching movement offered the greatest potential for long lasting change, a deep sense of well-being, and the space to continuously play. Through the years Jill’s practice has evolved, and discovering the power of Artemis Movement in her own body has felt like coming home. She wholeheartedly believes this is a practice for all ages, all bodies and all abilities and wishes to share so that others too can find their homecoming. Jill is ever grateful to Christy and all the teachers who have stepped into this practice before her, supporting her on the Artemis path.
